Order Authorizing the Minister of Communications to Prescribe, By Order, the Fees to be Paid By Users for Whom the National Library Provides Certain Services

Whereas, pursuant to paragraph 2(a) of the Public Service Rearrangement and Transfer of Duties Act, all the powers, duties and functions referred to in subparagraph (b)(i) of Order in Council P.C. 1993-1900 of November 4, 1993Footnote * were transferred from the Secretary of State of Canada to the Minister of Communications;

Therefore, His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Communications and the Treasury Board, pursuant to paragraph 19(1)(b)Footnote ** of the Financial Administration Act, is pleased hereby

Short Title

 This Order may be cited as the Minister of Communications (Library and Archives of Canada) Authority to Prescribe Fees Order.

  • 2004, c. 11, subpar. 52(5) and (6)

Authorization

 The Minister of Communications is authorized to prescribe, by order, subject to section 3, the fees to be paid by users for whom the Library and Archives of Canada provides the following services:

  • (a) information systems services;

  • (b) bibliographic services;

  • (c) reprographic services; and

  • (d) local delivery services.

Fee

 The fee to be paid by users for whom the Library and Archives of Canada provides a service is to be determined in accordance with the Treasury Board publication on External User Charges for Goods, Services, Property, Rights and Privileges, issued in August 1986 and revised in December 1989.
