TO ALL TO WHOM these Presents shall come or whom the same may in any way concern,
Greeting:
A Proclamation
Whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 1998-1805 of October 8, 1998, the Governor in Council declared that, in accordance with Article 27 of the Convention on Social Security between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, signed on July 1, 1998, the Convention shall enter into force on the first day of the fourth month following the month in which each Party shall have received from the other Party written notification that it has complied with all statutory requirements for the entry into force of the Convention;
Whereas that Order in Council was laid before the House of Commons on October 23, 1998 and before the Senate on October 27, 1998, pursuant to subsection 42(1) of the Old Age Security Act;
Whereas, before the 20th sitting day after the Order was laid before Parliament, no motion for the consideration of either House to the effect that the Order be revoked was filed with the Speaker of the appropriate House;
Whereas, pursuant to subsection 42(2) of the Old Age Security Act, the Order came into force on the 30th sitting day after it was laid before Parliament, being February 3, 1999;
Whereas the exchange of the written notifications was completed in November 2009;
Whereas the Convention shall enter into force on the first day of the fourth month following the month in which each Party shall have received from the other Party written notification that it has complied with all statutory requirements for the entry into force of that Convention, being March 1, 2010;
And whereas, by Order in Council P.C. 2010-113 of February 2, 2010, the Governor in Council directed that a proclamation do issue giving notice that the Convention on Social Security between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco enters into force on March 1, 2010;
Now know you that We, by and with the advice of Our Privy Council for Canada, do by this Our Proclamation, give notice that the Convention on Social Security between the Government of Canada and the Government of the Kingdom of Morocco, signed on July 1, 1998, a copy of which is annexed to this Proclamation, enters into force on March 1, 2010.
OF ALL WHICH Our Loving Subjects and all others whom these Presents may concern are hereby required to take notice and to govern themselves accordingly.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have caused this Our Proclamation to be published and the Great Seal of Canada to be hereunto affixed. WITNESS: The Honourable Marie Deschamps, a Puisne Judge of the Supreme Court of Canada and Deputy of Our Right Trusty and Well-beloved Michaëlle Jean, Chancellor and Principal Companion of our Order of Canada, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Military Merit, Chancellor and Commander of Our Order of Merit of the Police Forces, Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.
AT OTTAWA, this eighth day of February in the year of Our Lord two thousand and ten and in the fifty-ninth year of Our Reign.
