Proclamation Designating Certain Countries as Designated States
C.R.C., c. 1596
Proclamation Designating Certain Countries as Designated States
Know You that We, and with the advice of Our Privy Council for Canada, do by this Our Proclamation
(a) designate the countries listed hereinafter as designated states for the purposes of the Visiting Forces Act:
(b) declare that the Visiting Forces Act is applicable
(i) in whole to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland,
(ii) with the exception of Parts III and V thereof, to the Commonwealth of Australia and the Dominion of New Zealand, and
(iii) with the exception of Part VI thereof, to all the other designated states; and
(c) designate as a civilian component of a visiting force from one of the countries listed hereinafter the civilian personnel accompanying that visiting force who are in the employ of that force and who are not
(i) stateless persons,
(ii) nationals of any state that is not a designated state, or
(iii) citizens of or ordinarily resident in Canada:
