Regulations Respecting the Appointment of Women to Positions in the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development under an Employment Equity Program

The Public Service Commission, pursuant to paragraph 35(2)(d)Footnote * of the Public Service Employment Act, hereby makes the annexed Regulations respecting the appointment of women to positions in the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development under an employment equity program, effective May 3, 1994.

Short Title

 These Regulations may be cited as the Appointment of Women in the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development (Employment Equity Program) Regulations.

Interpretation

 In these Regulations, employment equity program means the Entry Level Officer Development Program for Women undertaken at the request of the deputy head of the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development and agreed to by the Public Service Commission on February 15, 1994, pursuant to section 5.1 of the Public Service Employment Act.

Exclusions

 The appointments of women to positions in the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development under the employment equity program are excluded from the operation of subsections 29(3) and (4), 30(1) and (2) and 39(3) and (4) of the Public Service Employment Act and sections 39 to 42 of the Public Service Employment Regulations, 1993.
