Canadian Hatching Egg Producers Quota Regulations

 In these Regulations,

Act

Act means the Farm Products Agencies Act; (Loi)

Agency

Agency means Canadian Hatching Egg Producers; (Office)

broiler hatching egg

broiler hatching egg means an egg that is suitable for incubation and is to be hatched as a chick for chicken production; (oeuf d’incubation de poulet de chair)

chick

chick means a chick hatched from a broiler hatching egg, from the time of hatch until it is placed in the facilities of a chicken producer for raising and not for resale; (poussin)

Commodity Board

Commodity Board means, in respect of

  • (a) Ontario, the Ontario Broiler Hatching Egg & Chick Commission;

  • (b) Quebec, le Syndicat des producteurs d’oeufs d’incubation du Québec;

  • (c) Manitoba, the Manitoba Chicken Producers; and

  • (d) British Columbia, the British Columbia Broiler Hatching Egg Commission; (office provincial de commercialisation)

export quota

export quota means the number of broiler hatching eggs that a producer in a signatory province is entitled, under these Regulations, to market in export trade during the period set out in the schedule; (contingent d’exportation)

interprovincial quota

interprovincial quota means the number of broiler hatching eggs that a producer in a signatory province is entitled, under these Regulations, to market in interprovincial trade during the period set out in the schedule; (contingent interprovincial)

marketing

marketing, in relation to broiler hatching eggs, means selling and offering for sale and buying, hatching, pricing, assembling, packing, transporting, delivering, receiving, storing and reselling; (commercialisation)

producer

producer means a person engaged in the production of broiler hatching eggs; (producteur)

provincial quota

provincial quota means the number of broiler hatching eggs that a producer in a signatory province is entitled, under orders, regulations or policy directives made by the Commodity Board of that province, to market in intraprovincial trade during the period set out in the schedule; (contingent provincial)

signatory provinces

signatory provinces means Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba and British Columbia. (provinces signataires)
