Regulations Respecting the Stabilization of the Price of Industrial Milk and Industrial Cream Delivered for Marketing During the Period April 1, 1979 to March 31, 1980

His Excellency the Governor General in Council, on the recommendation of the Minister of Agriculture with the concurrence of the Treasury Board, pursuant to sections 2, 8.2, 10 and 11 of the Agricultural Stabilization Act, is pleased hereby to make the annexed Regulations respecting the stabilization of the price of industrial milk and industrial cream delivered for marketing during the period April 1, 1979 to March 31, 1980.
Short Title
1 These Regulations may be cited as the Industrial Milk and Cream Stabilization 1979-80 Regulations.
Interpretation
2 In these Regulations,
- 1978-79 dairy year
1978-79 dairy year means the period commencing on April 1, 1978 and ending on July 31, 1979; (campagne laitière 1978-79)
- 1979-80 dairy year
1979-80 dairy year means the period commencing on August 1, 1979 and ending on July 31, 1980; (campagne laitière 1979-80)
- producer
producer means a person residing in Canada and producing industrial milk or industrial cream. (producteur)
Prescribed Price
3 The prescribed price for industrial milk and industrial cream for the period from April 1, 1979 to March 31, 1980 shall be the aggregate of
(a) one hundred and fifty-eight and six-tenths per cent of the base price thereof; and
(b) the index applicable thereto calculated in the manner set out in the Production Cost Index Regulations.
Payment to Producers
4 The Board may pay two hundred and seventy-nine million, five hundred and eighty thousand dollars to the Canadian Dairy Commission for the benefit of producers for the purpose of stabilizing the price of industrial milk and industrial cream at the prescribed price for industrial milk and industrial cream marketed during the twelve-month period consisting of
(a) that portion of the 1978-79 dairy year commencing on April 1, 1979 and ending on July 31, 1979; and
(b) that portion of the 1979-80 dairy year commencing on August 1, 1979 and ending on March 31, 1980.
