(propriétaire)ApplicationSubject to subsection (2), this Order applies to every communication transmitted to a ship by means of a Coast Guard Radio Station or transmitted from a ship to a Coast Guard Radio Station.This Order does not apply toan AMVER report forwarded through a Coast Guard Radio Station; ora communicationin respect of an aid to navigation, ice, ice routing, medical advice, pollution, weather, any navigational hazard or the safety of a life, oraddressed to a part of or a member of the Canadian Coast Guard that involves a report of a ship movement, position or condition.ChargesThe charge payable for transmitting a communication of the type set out in column I of an item of the schedule for the period of time or number of words set out in column II of that item isas set out in column III of that item, where the communicationis transmitted from or to a ship registered in or licensed by Canada, oris transmitted from Canada; andas set out in column IV of that item, for any other communication.SOR/95-277, s. 1A charge payable pursuant to section 4 shall be paid to the Receiver General for Canada bythe originator, where the communication is transmitted to a ship; orthe owner of the ship, where the communication is transmitted from a ship.Payment of a charge payable pursuant to paragraph 4(b) shall be made in United States dollars.For the purpose of subsection (1), one United States dollar is equivalent to 2.5374 gold francs.(Section 4)
