Canada Occupational Health and Safety Regulations

 Where it is not reasonably practicable, without providing hearing protectors, for an employer to maintain the exposure to sound of an employee to whom section 7.4 applies at a level that does not exceed the limits prescribed by that section, the employer shall, without delay,

  • (a) make a report in writing to the regional health and safety officer setting out the reasons why it is not reasonably practicable to do so; and

  • (b) provide a copy of the report to the work place committee or the health and safety representative.
