1.These Regulations may be cited as the 1985 Potatoes Stabilization Regulations.

INTERPRETATION

2.In these Regulations,Act means the Agricultural Stabilization Act; (Loi)market period means the period beginning July 1, 1985 and ending June 30, 1986. (période de mise en marché)

APPLICATION

3.These Regulations apply to potatoes produced by a producer in the calendar year 1985 and sold by the producer during the market period for table use, processing or seed.

DESIGNATION

4.Potatoes are hereby designated as an agricultural commodity for the purposes of the Act.

PRESCRIBED PERCENTAGE

5.For the purpose of determining the prescribed price of potatoes for the market period, the percentage of the base price of the potatoes is hereby prescribed to be 80 per cent.

PAYMENT

6.Where the Board so determines, the Board may make payment in respect of potatoes for the purpose of stabilizing the price of potatoes at the prescribed price to provincial producer agencies for the benefit of producers.
